FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Roland CS-10EM for?

• It is great for the field, live music, vlogging, or other activities that need the use of a handy microphone. The Roland CS-10EM also allows you to check the recording with instant playback.

2. Will these work with a DSLR camera?

• The device needs a 2-10v source to power them. You should check your camera manual if it has one available.

3. Will these work with a Zoom recorder?

• Yes!

4. Can I use the Roland CS-10EM with my smartphone?

• You can only use it for listening. The earphones come with two ⅛” audio jacks, one for monitoring and the other one for recording. You might need to look for an adapter for the mic to work. Don’t worry! You can still use it to listen to some music like your regular earphones.

5. Can I use the Roland CS-10EM with my desktop/laptop?

• Yes. You can use the earphones for listening but the microphone requires a plug-in power. You should check your computer hardware if it is compatible. If not, you would need an external sound card for it.

6. Will the Roland CS-10EM work with a Roland Quad Capture USB?

• Yes! You can use it with a Roland Quad Capture connected to your desktop/laptop.

7. Can I put windscreens on the mic?

• Yes! You can attach a windscreen to the mic. It increases the quality of the recording by reducing some of the harshness and wind noise.

8. How well does the Roland CS-10EM fit?

• They fit fine in most ears but if you find yours falling out, you could look into replacement tips or hooks.

9. Does the recorder affect the sound quality?

• The microphone alone is excellent. But, the recording device will determine the quality of the audio recorded. It depends on the bit quality and sample rate of the recording device you will use. For vlogging/video recordings or casual use, it's definitely more than enough to get the job done.

10. Does the Roland CS-10EM come with XLR cables?

• No. It uses a ⅛’’ audio jack for the microphone.

11. Can I use the Roland CS-10EM to record my guitar?

• Yes! This will have more of a natural feel in the recording. It will feel like what you're actually hearing live. It will catch your fingers through the strings, the guitar pick as you strum, and the sound of wood from the guitar.

12. Will they work with an audio interface? 

• Yes, they'll work fine. Although, you would need adapters to fit plugs into the audio interface jacks. You also wouldn't need the use of phantom power, so you could turn it off when using a pair of these.
